Happy Friday! If you’re reading this, looks like the Mayan’s were wrong and we’ve survived the End Of The World (and I really hope that’s the case because I just bought a DSLR that isn’t coming in til Monday, that I am SO excited about – but that’s besides the point.)
First off, I want to say hello to all of you lovely readers coming over from Jenni’s blog, to those who have been here with me the whole time, and those of you who’ve come along the way!! Story of my Life was one of the first blogs I stumbled upon when I started my blog early this year. Ever since the first time I read one of Jenni’s posts, I was hooked! Her blog is full of incredible pictures, personal life anecdotes and fun giveaways from time to time. But my favorite thing about her blog has to be her love story with her husband. If you’re in for a heart-warming story that is a reminder that somewhere out there, real love exists, I highly suggest you read Jenni’s love story!
I’ve had this little blog here since March 2012. I started it as a New Years Resolution to myself to keep my love for writing alive, and to not let the things I am passionate about sit on the back burner. It took me about a year to put any effort into making a blog because I had doubts and questioned whether or not anyone would care about what I had to say. But I grew tired of making excuses as to why I couldn’t just put my page together and after months of staring at a blank WordPress blog, I manned up and bought a domain, knowing that if I put any form of money into my blog, it would be something I would pursue more. Thus, Buitiful Confessions was born.
I am Jackie. I’m a 24 year old graduate student, studying to become a Clinical Mental Health Counselor, but writing has always been my first love. My life revolves around stringing together thoughts and words and formulating a story out of them. Since my last introduction on Jenni’s blog, a lot has changed! I turned 24, grappled with coming to terms with past relationships, survived Hurricane Sandy, and just yesterday, I finished up my first semester of graduate school. In only one semester, I’ve learned so much more than I thought I could – not only about counseling, but about life as well. I also celebrated Thanksgiving with my family, and was reminded then of all of the wonderful things in my life. But, the highlight of the past three months was meeting one of my idols, Bethany Joy Lenz.
I’m currently in the midst of making some changes with the interface of my page, as well as the About Me, 50 Shades and Bucket List tabs. But for now, you can check out what I have there. Stick around for awhile, as all of the updates will be up by 2013! I look forward to bringing more to the table with my blog in the new year, and implementing more creative writing into some of my posts. I am inspired by Tyler Knott’s typewriter series, and hope to incorporate a similar “series” on my blog, with my own writings. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you all have a great Friday, and a Happy Holiday. Come back soon!
And PS: if you couldn’t already tell, all of the titles for my posts are song lyrics! :)
